How do I find out who supplies the gas and electricity to the property?

You will need your full address, postcode, meter serial number, and a recent meter reading.

To identify your electricity supplier, contact the Scottish Power MPAS service on 0845 270 9101. Have your full postal address ready. A recorded message will confirm your supplier and provide their contact number.

To identify your gas supplier, contact Transco’s Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN) helpline on 0870 608 1524, again with your full postal address available.

When speaking with your suppliers, you will also need your meter serial number and a current meter reading. These details are recorded on your deposit form and can also be found directly on the meters.

Your postcode will be shown on your tenancy agreement. If you need this information before receiving your agreement, you can search for the postcode using an online postcode finder service.
